Welcome to a Place That is…
“Placing God and His Word within your reach”
Sermon Series

Sunday Service:  10:30AM Sanctuary

Atlanta Church of God by Faith began as a church plant in 1988. Our heartbeat from the beginning has been to serve the Lord by placing God’s word within reach, serving the community and compassionately winning souls to Christ. Today Atlanta Church of God by Faith continues to serve the community and grow as a body of believers, extending God’s love and grace beyond our four walls. We hope to meet you soon!
Sunday School for All Ages
This is not your “average” Sunday School!
No sir-ree. It’s got exciting curriculum, engaging instructors, and fun activities for the whole family! You don’t want to miss this chance to grow in grace!
Ok, sometimes a snack is served too!

The mission of Grace Place is to enlist 11th hour laborers for the Kingdom work of Jesus Christ already in progress. “And about the eleventh hour He went out and found others standing idle, and said to them, ‘Why have you been standing here idle all day?’ They said to Him, ‘Because no one hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right you will receive.'”.

Leadership Team
Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.

Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Church members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as washing the church vehicles, to preparing the church bulletins, to teaching others.

Mission Outreach and In-Reach

Grace Place is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in supporting missionaries with our money and with our prayers. We currently support a missionary, Devon Kester, who has been to several countries, most recently in Kenya. Follow Devon at  http://devonkester.theworldrace.org/ and pledge your support in practical projects and evangelistic outreach. We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it means that they move to a foreign country or live and minister in our own community. Our affiliation with Stephen’s Ministry helps us with In-Reach within our church and their families, and in the community. Volunteers are trained to offer a healing hand.

Music and Drama

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music and drama ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in the choir. Still others get involved in drama. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.
A team of youthful dramatist, known as the MOTAP Dancers, an off-shoot of the MOTAP Prayer Warriors Ministry, express humbleness, praise, and honor to God through beautiful dance.

Media and Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of this church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website in video and audio formats. We also maintain an active Facebook and Twitter feed for additional church communication. On-site we also use tech to enhance worship through our A/V ministry, and administration via a fully wired and wireless network for file sharing and storage.

Men, Women, Youth, and Ministerial Ministries

Grace Place has got you covered. Men, women, youth, and even our ministers (ordained and ordination candidates) all have a place mingle with like minds. Special events or brief sessions of fellowship introduce lessons that enhance growth on both the individual and team levels. Speaking of teams, our Couples Ministry has caused many that are married to find fresh hope and new joy in a warm and fulfilling relationship with their spouse.

M.O.T.A.P. Prayer Warriors

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Grace Place is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, before the morning service, a team of ministers pray for the ministry of the Word. Throughout the week, volunteers from our MOTAP Prayer Warriors team pray for their pastor, a list of church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs. Each Tuesday, the church comes together with MOTAP for a special time of prayer and Bible study. MOTAP is an acronym for Men Ought To Always Pray.

How Do I Meet People?

Our church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at this church.

Sunday School
Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, our church has small Bible studies held in member homes. The size of the group is anywhere from six to twelve people. At a time designated by your group leader you can participate in the small group study.

Youth & Children’s Ministry
Each Sunday morning, children get to participate in their own classes. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn. Each of the class teachers is carefully screened and thoroughly trained in children’s instruction. Other activities and events also round out the ministry to youth and children at Grace Place.

Young Adults
Life can get complicated once you cross that nebulous threshold into adulthood. There are complicated decisions. Bigger stakes. Serious relationships. And a whole lot more decisions. The Young Adult group of our church provides a welcoming atmosphere for college and early-career aged young people.

Women’s Group
Women’s groups give the ladies in our church family special times of interaction. Our women’s groups, located in several locations throughout our community, are times of Bible study, prayer (and, of course, food). These groups provide a refreshing discipleship opportunity for the women in the church.

Men’s Ministry
Accountability among men is an act of integrity. Accountability is designed to protect, encourage, and develop men of all ages. The men of Grace Place meet together as their schedules allow and keep in touch by email or phone.

Married Couples
Even though marriage is one of the most important institutions, it is the one which is under the most attack–internally and externally. The Couple’s Ministry provides enriching activities that educates and guides couples for life-challenges that are unique to the marital experience. Topics might include Marriage and Money, Getting Ready for Kids, Shepherding Children, and Marriage and Sex. This group also offers exciting activities like nights-on-the-town or at-the-movies, fun fellowship experiences, and other relaxing sessions to build bonds between spouses.

Ministerial Group
Ministers are not holier-than-thou! They have needs too, and many times those require special attention. After exhausting body, soul, and spirit to prepare for, and then minister God’s Word (or even oversee the well-being of the body of Christ), a refreshing is most times in order.
This group meets by pre-arranged scheduling to receive pastoral directives, provide feedback on assigned tasks or responsibilities, and even have lighter moments of fun and recreation, all with goal of growing in grace together.
Many Other Groups and Ministries
Only a few of many, many areas to serve and grow are shown here. Please reach out to our administration team for a list of “Service Descriptions” that identify areas where volunteers and leaders are needed.
We’re excited about serving you as we grow together in God’s grace!
